Illinois’s School-Based Health Services program, through both Fee-for-Service direct service claiming and Medicaid Administrative Claiming, reimburse school systems for eligible health services provided to students enrolled in Illinois Medicaid. School systems that maximize reimbursement receive significant recurring funding that offsets the growing cost of special education.
